Albert-Renger-Patzsch- Assignment 1
For my first assiegment I had to take 100 photographs in relation to Albert Renger Patzsch as I have looked at his work and made my own responses I have knowledge as I have done some experiments in response to alberts photographs i know that he works in black and white, he focuses on framing and composition in some of his photographs he zooms in on the objects as this is what i have done in some of my photographs this way the viewer will not be focused on the movement in the background but the object that i want to be the main focus. Another formal element that Albert uses in his photographs are black and white, i feel by presenting his photographs in black and white it makes the photograph more appealing to look at and it also makes it more bolder than it would have been if it was in colour, as i was inspired by Albert photographs i then decided to change my photographs to black and white as this would also give the feel of boldness and captivating for the viewer to look at. The next formal element that I was focusing on was light and also how light lays on the objects to change the texture and the way the photograph is viewed, as this is also one of the formal elements that I notice Albert photographs show. I also feel that texture is also a important element to consider before taking a photograph as it can change a viewers perception and the meaning that they create for the photograph. From looking and developing my research into Albert i found that he works with many formal elements but the main ones being framing and angle of view, focus, lines, pattern and rreptionpetion, this has thought me that to make a photograph successful you should have some of these formal elements within your photographs such as angle of view this way it will make it a lot clear of what you want the viewer to see and focus on. Throughout this theme and as i continued to look at Albert work i developed my ideas on how to frame and compose a photographs such as zooming up close to the subject, trying not to get any movement in the background and making the subject the main focus. Throughout my time doing work inspired by Albert i have wanted to and have change all of my photographs into black and white as i feel by doing changing the filter to grayscale it is presented and gives the overall images a efficient look and feel. Thought this experiment I did come across some difficult situations as to what i should take photographs of and how they relate to Alberts photographs for my first experiment i stayed in and went around school however i did find this part difficult one of the reasons being because after taking a certain amount of photographs that were similar to his work i found it difficult to take further photographs in and around school that showed similarities to alberts work but not the same photographs as i took earlier one. After noticing that there was limited subjects to take photographs of I then went around my area to take some photographs in relation to Alberts work i feel that this is easier in the aspects because there was more of a variety and the fact that I could capture more textures outside that i could not capture within school. I also took some photographs inside of my house in addition to this i found this quite easy to fine different textures, line and repletion, and change the angle of view to make my photograph stand out from my previous experiments. Overall I am happy with the outcome of my 100 photographs as i feel that they all have some relations to Albert Renger Patzchs work for example they are all in black and white, for some photograph I have zoomed on in on the subject and some show texture line and a pattern which I am happy with. However on the other hand if i were to take these photographs again I would in some photographs focus on what is in the background and try to change or develop it as Albert does. However overall I am happy with the outcome of all my photographs and i enjoyed this task.
